CMF Phone 2 Pro: Stylish and Affordable

DEVICE REVIEWS

CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, is known for delivering very cool phone designs with decent features in the ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 range. If you have seen the CMF Phone 1, you know it was a great phone for its price, offering a lot in terms of design and features. Now, CMF is back with the Phone 2 Pro, and although the naming is a bit confusing (since there was no regular Phone 2), let’s see what CMF has to offer with the new Phone 2 Pro.

Design

The Phone 2 Pro carries a similar design language to the Phone 1 but brings major changes, especially to the camera module. It features a plastic frame and a customizable back with different color options — although you’ll need to buy those accessories separately.
Still, this customization option is a great way to refresh the look of your phone whenever you want.

This time, the camera module on the Phone 2 Pro is very different and eye-catching. It has three lenses arranged in a triangular shape with a big silver ring around one of the lenses, giving it a very stylish look.

Display

The Phone 2 Pro offers a 6.7-inch AMOLED flat punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The bezels are neither too thick nor too thin, making the front look balanced.
However, CMF has not officially declared any display protection for the Phone 2 Pro, so it’s strongly recommended to apply a screen guard.

Unfortunately, the Phone 2 Pro does not support HDR in YouTube or Netflix.
Despite that, the color output is quite good, and you will enjoy consuming multimedia on this display. The 120Hz refresh rate also makes the phone feel fast, although some apps like YouTube and Twitter still run at 60Hz.
If needed, you can manually set the display to 60Hz to save battery life, because 120Hz drains more battery.

Performance

The Phone 2 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.0 storage.
This is one of the best combinations you can get at this price range!
The AnTuTu score is around 200K, and at ₹18,000, that’s pretty impressive.

In real usage, the Phone 2 Pro can handle normal gaming, multitasking, and even some high-intensity tasks smoothly.
Thanks to features like split-screen mode and fast animations, opening and closing apps feels quick and smooth. Also, there are no major heating issues during regular use, which makes the Phone 2 Pro a reliable performer.

Software

Software has always been a strong point for Nothing, and the Phone 2 Pro continues that trend.
While early Nothing devices had a few bugs (normal for a new brand), the company has improved a lot over time.

The Phone 2 Pro ships with Android 15 and Nothing OS 3.1 out of the box.
You will get 2 years of major Android updates and 3 years of security patches.

One of the best parts about Nothing OS is that it lets you customize your phone in your own way — a big plus for users who like to personalize their experience.

Camera

Nothing has always done a good job with cameras, and the Phone 2 Pro is no different.

The real-world camera performance is natural, without overly boosted colors.
The dynamic range is decent — not the best, but acceptable for this price.
Night photography is also decent; you can’t expect flagship-level shots, but it’s good enough for casual users.

A great feature in the Phone 2 Pro is 2x digital zoom in portrait mode.
Most photographers prefer 2x for portraits, especially close-up shots, and this phone nails it quite well.
Selfies, however, are just average and could be improved in future updates.

Battery

The Phone 2 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery, which is perfect for a day’s usage.
Even better, Nothing includes a 33W fast charger inside the box — yes, you read that right!
Unlike many brands today, you don’t need to buy a separate charger.

Charging is fast, and thanks to the efficient processor, battery life is good under normal usage conditions.

Final Thoughts

The CMF Phone 2 Pro brings a lot to the table at an affordable price point.
From a premium design with customization options to good overall performance, a solid camera for the price, and smooth software experience, it’s a strong contender in the budget smartphone market.

While there are minor compromises like no HDR support and an average selfie camera, the overall package that the Phone 2 Pro offers at around ₹18,000 is very impressive.

If you are looking for a stylish, fast, and reliable smartphone with a fresh design approach, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is definitely worth considering!
