Realme GT 7T Review: Power, Battery & First Look

DEVICE REVIEWS

Realme currently has three main smartphone series: the P series, Number series, and GT series. The P series focuses on performance within the ₹25,000 budget, the Number series emphasizes camera quality, and the GT series is all about pure performance with good cameras. The brand launched the Realme GT 7T in China, and it’s expected to arrive in India this May. So, let’s explore what Realme is offering in the Realme GT 7T, and whether it’s worth the price or not.

Design

This time, the Realme GT 7T features a completely different design compared to the Realme GT 6. It comes with a metal frame and a plastic back with a stylish design pattern, along with the Realme branding. Talking about the camera module, it includes two lenses and one flash. The color combinations are very attractive. If you choose the blue variant, all the buttons come in orange color, and the same contrasting scheme follows for other color variants too.

However, one issue is the lack of an IP68 or IP69 rating. If consumers are paying a premium price, the brand needs to offer such basic protections like water and dust resistance.

Display

Chinese smartphone brands always stay a step ahead when it comes to display quality. The Realme GT 7T features a 6.78-inch flat 8T LTPO 1.5K AMOLED punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of brightness, it offers an incredible 6000 nits peak brightness and 1800 nits HBM. We also get Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, which is great.

If we talk about the color output, it’s quite vivid and boosted, making it ideal for multimedia consumption. You’ll really enjoy watching content on it. However, HDR+ support is only available on YouTube, and that’s a bit of a letdown. Also, the 120Hz refresh rate is not consistent—some apps don’t support it and drop down to 60Hz, which can affect the overall smooth experience.

Performance

The GT series is known for its performance-centric approach, and the Realme GT 7T is no exception. It is powered by the Dimensity 8400-Max processor, combined with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, making it a beast for performance.

With this configuration, you can easily play BGMI at high graphics, multitask, and handle high-intensity tasks smoothly. According to tests, the AnTuTu score is near 900K, which confirms its flagship-level power. During extended gameplay or heavy usage, you might feel some heating, but for normal tasks, it runs cool and stable.

Camera

The camera is decent, but it’s mostly good on paper. In real-life usage, the Realme GT 7T captures images with boosted colors. The dynamic range is not consistent, and at times, image processing lacks accuracy. Still, the photos come out looking good for the most part.

A great feature is the inclusion of 2x and 3x zoom in portrait mode, which helps capture better depth and detail. Overall, pictures and videos are satisfactory, but selfie quality is average and doesn’t stand out much.

Battery

The highlight of the Realme GT 7T is its massive 7000mAh battery. This year, Chinese smartphone companies have seriously pushed the battery limits. With such a large capacity, battery backup is never a concern, even for heavy users. Still, some users might feel it’s not enough because of how much power the display and performance use.

To top it off, the phone comes with an 80W fast charger, which is a great addition and ensures your phone is ready to go quickly.

Final Conclusion

The Realme GT 7T is a strong performer in every department—design, display, performance, battery, and even camera (to some extent). Realme has focused on delivering top-tier specifications that make the phone stand out in its segment.

Yes, there are areas for improvement, like the lack of IP rating, inconsistent refresh rate, and average selfie performance, but the rest of the experience is top-notch.

If your top priority is performance with style, and you’re someone who enjoys gaming, content consumption, and day-long usage, then the Realme GT 7T is definitely worth considering. With its Dimensity 8400-Max chip, 1.5K AMOLED display, and 7000mAh battery, the Realme GT 7T is built for power users.

In summary, the Realme GT 7T is an impressive offering from Realme in 2025. For those eyeing a performance-packed smartphone, the Realme GT 7T could be the right pick. Let’s see how the Realme GT 7T performs once it launches in India!
