Samsung Galaxy S25 : A Compact and Powerful Phone

DEVICE REVIEWS

The Galaxy S25 is the third phone in the Samsung S25 series. While the first two smartphones are good for their price and position, the Galaxy S25 stands out as something special. What makes it unique is its compact size at a premium price, as there are very few compact phones available in this range. But that’s not the only reason to consider this phone there are several other features that make it worth buying. Let’s explore what makes the S25 a special device.

Compact Design

Just like the other two phones in the S25 series, the Galaxy S25 comes with a metal body and glass back. The camera module remains the same with no changes, but this year, Samsung has slightly squared off the design compared to previous models. I think this looks great, and at a premium price, most smartphones offer this square design, which not only looks good but also provides a comfortable in-hand feel.

Elegant Display

The display and its size are important aspects of the Galaxy S25. It features a 6.2-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is a great combination. Unlike curved or semi-curved displays, this one is flat, and Samsung has added Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for durability. The best improvement in the S25 series is the reduced display bezels, making the screen more immersive. All these factors contribute to a compact and user-friendly display, perfect for those who prefer smaller screens over large ones. This is why the S25 ranks higher than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Plus for many users.

Powerful Performance

Samsung made no mistakes in performance, launching the Galaxy S25 series with the same  Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This is currently the best smartphone processor on the market. Additionally, UFS 4.0 storage and DDR5X RAM make the processor even more powerful, allowing users to handle high-intensity tasks and play high-graphics games smoothly. This is why the Galaxy S25 is both compact and powerful. However, one issue with the Galaxy S25 is heating, though Samsung has been working on it to resolve the problem. Whether their efforts are successful remains to be seen.

One of the most lovable things about Samsung is its One UI. The Galaxy S25 comes with One UI 7, which is considered the best UI in the Android ecosystem. The reason is simple it’s minimal yet highly customizable. But it’s not just about customization; One UI 7, based on Android 15, offers several other features that enhance the user experience. Additionally, all three Galaxy S25 series phones come with seven years of Android and security updates, making the Galaxy S series truly next-level.

Average Camera

The camera in the Galaxy S25 is impressive, and there’s no doubt that it offers great value for its price. While it’s not a camera-centric phone, it still performs excellently. At this price point, you can find other smartphones that are more camera-focused, but the Galaxy S25’s camera is far from something you can ignore. With its AI features, the Galaxy S25 delivers fantastic results, making it a really good camera overall.

Low Battery

One downside of the S25 series is its decent battery—the battery capacity (mAh) is below average. The Galaxy S25 comes with a 4400mAh battery, which can barely last a full day under normal usage. However, this can be manageable due to Samsung’s battery optimization, which will show its true performance in real-world use. As for charging, the Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W fast charging, 25W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging. While it’s not the best, it’s also not the worst in terms of battery and charging. From a numbers perspective, the fast charging is decent.
